The latest Ebola situation - Afrikakulturinstitut

The latest Ebola situation report released by the World Organization for Health (WHO) summarises that 30 new cases were confirmed in the week to 12 July. Sierra Leone reported 14 cases, Guinea reported 13 and three were from Liberia (19 July 2015).

Worldwide, there have been 27,705 infected with Ebola and 11,269 fatalities since the outbreak in March 2014. http://apps.who.int/ebola/current-situation/ebola-situation-report-22-july-2015

Preliminary results from Guinea show that a new vaccine is highly effective against Ebola, and trials of the VSV-EBOV vaccine should continue. "This is an extremely promising development." Dr Margaret Chan, WHO Director-General. (WHO, 31 July 2015)
